20 January 1944 Guinea Airways Ltd. Lodestar VH-CAC aircraft force landed at Tennant Creek with hydraulic failure while en route Adelaide to Batchelor. Major damage.
The terminal facilities at Tennant Creek Airport were constructed during the 1960s, although the airport itself was used during World War II.
